Description

This Jeep tour Kyrgyzstan is combined with cultural programs, the life of local people, visits historical sites, museums. At your request, we also do rafting on the Chu and Chon-Kemin rivers.

Day 1 – Bishkek city tour in the footsteps of the Soviet union

Meeting at the airport and transfer to hotel. After getting settled, we will enjoy an early dinner at a wonderful local restaurant. We will then visit the central part of Bishkek city, Victory Square, Ala-Too Square, Oak Park, and see the monuments of the heroes of Kyrgyz people like Manas – the main character of the Kyrgyz national epic. After exploring the city, we will head back to the hotel.

Day 2 – Dordoi Bazaar, Burana tower, Rafting, Kochkor village

In the morning we will start our jeep tour of Kyrgyzstan visiting Dordoi Bazaar – the biggest street market in Central Asia, the bazaar which connects traders of China, Turkey, Russia, and Central Asia Countries. Then we will continue to Kochkor village in Naryn Region. On the road in Tokmok town, we will visit the Burana Tower in the capital of the ancient Karakhanid state, which was located on these lands. Lunch at the home of a local Dungan family, get acquainted with the unusual Dungan tradition, and continue the tour to Chon Kemin river for rafting. Close to evening hours upon arrival in Kochkor village, we will visit the felt factory, the organized group of local women that deals with handmade traditional felt products. There we will help masters to make felt carpet.

Day 3 – Kalmak Ashu Pass, Son Kul lake

After breakfast, continue the journey through the scenic region to Son-Kul Lake, the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, located at an altitude of 3016 m. We will drive to Son Kul lake through Kalmak Ashu Pass, where we will have the opportunity to touch snow, see yaks on the jailoo, and high mountain flowers on the fields. Travel along the shore of the lake among local shepherds, yurts, and herds of horses and shepherds, and arrive at a Yurt Camp – nomad tents. Upon arrival, we will be met by the hosts, have lunch in yurts and go for a short walk to the lake area. We will then come back for dinner in a specially equipped dining yurt.

Day 4 – Moldo Ashu Pass ( 33 parrots), Naryn city

After having breakfast at the yurt camp, continue the journey towards the south of the lake, along endless pastures, through the 3348 m high Moldo-Ashuu pass, drive among serpentines. People call the pass also ” 33 Parrots”. We will descend to the city of Naryn, which is crossed by the longest river in Kyrgyzstan, the Naryn. The Tien Shan mountain range will appear in front of us in all its glory during sunset.

Day 5 – Tosor gorge, Yssyk Kul lake, Tamga.

After having breakfast at the hotel, continue the journey through the impressive mountain range Ala-Too, and cross the Eki Naryn River and the Tosor gorge at an altitude of 4020 m. We will take a break on the road for lunch, as well as see glaciers and lakes located among the snowy mountains. Descend on the south side of the Issyk-Kul lake, the area of Tamga, at the foot of the lake.

Day 6 – Jeti-Oguz valley, Karakol

After breakfast, continue the trip to the Jeti-Oguz valley, along the southern coast of Issyk-Kul Lake, the second-largest alpine lake in the world. On the road, visit the Barskoon gorge. We will walk up through the gorge and arrive at a delightful waterfall. Continue the trip in the direction of the “Broken Heart” mountain of the “Jeti Oguz” gorge, as they are called by the local people, and climb up to the “Girl’s braids” waterfall. We will descend to Karakol city, make city tour where we will visit Dungan mosque which is amazing for its combination of Islam, which came from the Middle East with Chinese wooden architecture, visit Holy Trinity Cathedral, and have dinner with a local Uygur family and see a performance of the local folk ensemble playing traditional musical instruments.

Day 7 – Altyn Arashan hot springs, Cholpon-Ata

The day will travel in the direction of the Altyn Arashan Canyon on a soviet union truck. Climb along the road with delightful landscapes, along the canal to mineral hot springs for taking a bath. We will eat lunch at the guest house in Altyn Arashan gorge. We will also visit Ak Suu Kench mineral hot spring pool on the arriving road from Altyn Arashan and continuing the trip towards Cholpon-Ata on the northern coast of the lake.

Day 8 Petroglyphs open sky museum, Bishkek

After breakfast, we will visit the open museum of petroglyphs in the city of Cholpon-Ata. It is a place with an abundant number of prehistoric rock paintings that amaze with their beauty and ancient temples of the Scythians and Huns. They set out from this place to begin their journeys to seize the expanses of Asia. Then we will visit the cultural center “Ruh-Ordo”, where guides will lead a fascinating tour filled with historical facts and legends. In the evening arrive at Bishkek for a gala dinner at the national restaurant.

Day 9 Transfer to Airport

The end of Jeep tour Kyrgyzstan. Flight home having gained wonderful and lasting impressions from what you have seen and experienced.
